| Cala Santanyí is located in the
southeast of
Mallorca some 45 km. from the airport and some 55 km. from Palma, in an area
unspoilt by mass tourism, with only two hotels, one of them is the Hotel Pinos
Playa. It is a peaceful area, with very natural surroundings and has a lovely
scenery. Since April 2003 we are included into to the marine-national parc of migjorn, (which comprises the area from Cabo Blanco to Cala Figuera.)  The Resort consists of hotel and apartments, The hotel Pinos Playa, located just a few metres from the sea and less than 100 m. from the beach; The Apartments: There are 7 apartment blocks with a total of 54 apartments plus 5 studios, providing a total of 172 beds and the entire complex is set in extensive gardens. The hotel consists of two buildings joined by a tunnel, it has 94 double rooms and 10 single ones, providing a total of 198 beds, with air-conditioning in the dining room, the lounge and the Disco. There are two swimming pools, from which one is heated during the cooler months. Download complex map (PDF) Cala Santanyí highlights by his turquoise waters and fine white sand proceeding from the erosion of the calcareous rocks, which are rich in fossil shells. There are some very interesting places, In the bay itself is a slipway with the boathouses of the fishermen. There is a lovely underwater cave that is a must do for qualified divers (those who do not have the experience can learn it at the PADI diving centre located at the bottom of the hotel, on the edge of the sea); Yet on the other side is a very old defence tower recently restored. However, there is no doubt the most famous landmark in Cala Santanyí is "Es Pontas", a stone arch carved out by the force of the waves. Near Cala Santanyí we find: Santanyí, which is some 4 km. away (Cala Santanyí is part of the Municipality of Santanyí). Close by, going down the coast, in a western direction is Cala Llombards, followed by Cala S'almonia and es Calo d'es Moro (a very lovely place) in the heart of the countryside, alongside es Rafal and S'Avall in a Protected Natural Park. Only 3 km. to the east is the very pittoresque fishing port of Cala Figuera and the Cala Mondrago Natural Park. How to arrive: -Taxi: The price from the airport to Cala Santanyí is 51 Euros.
